Name: Amberley

Been a Swimming Teacher for: Qualified August 2019.

What made you want to be a teacher? At the club I used to swim with they have a swim school and encourage you to volunteer with the teaching,  and then when old enough you gain your qualifications and the seniors help with the swim school and the younger swimmers at the club.

What is your favourite skill to teach? I don't have a favourite skill to teach as such, but when they finally are able to perform a skill that they have been struggling with the most, is my favourite.

Which stage do you think is the hardest? I think stage 4 and beyond, as it’s usually to a deeper area of the pool and the strokes become more technical.

Have you got a funny swimming story? When i was younger and on holiday I would prefer to swim in the pool when it was raining or a thunderstorm as the pool would be empty and me and my sister would have it to ourselves- my mum hated it!

Where in the world would you like to swim? I really want to swim with sharks, so probably in Fiji, as their main dive is called “the shark dive” and you get to come face to face with eight different species.

Tell me something interesting about you? In the summer of 2019 I went on an expedition to Peru and Bolivia and Volunteered at an orphanage.
